Here we go:
Let me let you into my whirlwind:
- Thesis draft was returned. Not a terrible review. In fact, dissertational level work with an invitation to do so. Not worth another year or two here, though. Declined. This will merely be an overachiever's thesis.
- Trip to Florida
- Wedding of my best friend and another friend (did I mention that I am the evil genius behind this match?!!?) B'ette party, rehearsal and dinner, decorations and all associated to-dos!
- Ben Harper concert
why is this a bit overwhelming? Had my draft meeting with prof Monday evening. Leave Thursday morning for FL. Trying to turn around a draft in...48 hours (with the current writers block that I have,) pack, travel to capital and fly. Upon landing in my much loved Florida at 6.10, I have to get the rental (no DCS is not picking me up, he is wrapping up a conference in Jax) and drive to Jax (3hrs) for a concert that starts at 8. Nothing like starting a supposedly relaxing and fun trip with anxiety and time constraints and panic and and and.
Attitude of Gratitude:
- Going home
- Seeing DCS
- Shell's wedding
- Clay's wedding (okay, it is the same wedding...)
- Spending a good chunk of time with DCS
- Draft not to terrible
- Revisions going decently
- Pdfs of journal articles I have from my prof - easier to travel with.
- Armpit Island nomination for the fellowship

Thesis Update: Well mostly above. The revision specifics mostly center around losing the forest for the trees. I have lots of trees, need more forest. Need less writer's block too, right now! The minor changes have happened, the major results reformat has happened, the major discussion rewrite is currently being worked on.
Wish me forest!

I was wondering what happened to Chel. If it's your wedding, Congrats. I hope everything will go well.
That's good news on the production front KC, even if it's all for an MA/MS. I did more or less the same thing with mine, but it took many more years to finish up the PhD. It's the chance you take. Good luck with all the adventures. Sorry we don't have the auto-lobotomy in a toothpaste tube ready in time for your meeting with DCS. I've heard that a judiciously slight application with a lighter ball pen hammer might do the trick however. Always something to keep in mind.
Cheers & Good Luck! 'VJ'
